What is NCD 2.0 / 3.0?
Since approx. 2018 BMW has replaced the conventional coding (via BTLD/FDL) with a new system: NCD (Network Coding Data). Instead of changing individual parameters manually, a complete NCD file is generated and loaded into the vehicle.
- NCD 2.0 is used on G-Series models from approx. 2018 (G20, G01, G05, G30 LCI, G11 LCI, etc.)
- NCD 3.0 is the latest generation for vehicles from approx. 2022+ (G70, iX, i4, iX3 NA5, etc.)
- The NCD file is generated from the FA (vehicle equipment) and SVT (control unit tree) of the respective vehicle.
